Barbican/Museum of London “Sounds of the City”

An exciting and original collaboration between the Barbican and Museum of London, our tutors were part of a team working with over 200 children over one day, exploring "Sounds of the City".

Children collected field recordings, recreated them using a range of acoustic and electronic instruments, composed and performed a piece of original music to reflect the city of London. A lot of fun, music and sound!

Drum Rudiment and Technique Workouts

We ran a unique series of group drumming sessions last summer focussing on rudiments and technique. Each session aimed to fill in gaps that self taught drummers may develop and to give players fresh a perspective on rudiments and technique which they can apply immediately to their own playing and practice.

Think Zumba for drummers! Playing in a group brings out the best in everyone and provides a perfect opportunity to enthuse us about areas of practice which can often be overlooked. Exciting, fast paced, motivating and giving immediate results. We will be running more workouts in 2015. Join our mailing list or follow us to keep updated.

An Introduction to Songwriting

Our tutors collaborated with London Songwriting School and the Guardian to offer a series of incredible opportunities to gain insight into professional methods and "tricks of the trade" as applied by the most successful songwriters in the business.

Guest tutors included Eg White (Adele, Florence and the Machine), Justin Parker (Lana Del Ray, Ellie Goulding), Nick Hodgson (Kaiser Chiefs).
